i think dialogue is quick to read and generally easy to process. pretty sure that’s what speeds up fiction reading for me. it’s rarely as dense as a page of info or description.

That’s also true for me. Non-fiction seems to be harder for me to process. I can read a fiction book in days, but a non-fiction will take me a couple of weeks. No explanation.

I think you both make good points. The pages are dense and there aren’t any breaks for dialogue. Plus, I’m trying to pay attention to the memory lessons, while I’m not attempting to be a memory champion it would be nice to not forget as much.

his dark materials are my absolute favorite books. the movie is irrelevant—not like the book at all. hope you enjoy it! :)

You’re going to love the Golden Compass! I wasn’t sure I was going to like it but it ended up being one of my favorite books. I hope you read the rest of the “His Dark Material” trilogy. It’s definitely worth a read.

It’s a decent book, I’m sure you’ll like it.

Well, it seems that a few of you are definitely pro “His Dark Materials”…maybe I did make a mistake not buying the trilogy bundle?

Nope. Just double checked and did the math, each Kindle book is only $6.99 and the Omnibus collection is $21.99. I’m saving myself a whole $1.02 if I buy each one independently. Someone in the Knopf editorial/marketing department made a mistake with that pricing logic.

I’m sorry. I hope you feel better soon :(

Thanks. I’m hoping to feel better soon too, hopefully the MRI will shed some light on what’s going on.
