Thanks. I feel a bit better this morning. A little sad that I haven’t been doing any fun reading on the train, and have been reading my accounting textbook instead. “Thieves of Book Row” is really fascinating, and I want to get back to the rare book business.

Sadness.
Indeed.
The redundancies make sense when you read through the email, but it’s still very eye opening to see where “they” will be making changes in each department.
The transition from P to E in these areas along with the influence of technology in general, is listed as a reason why changes need to be made. I think it’s just a little jarring to see this email about layoffs after the email three weeks or so ago about layoffs from a different group in the company.
You know I love working in publishing, but announcements like this are why I’m really glad that I’m back in school and getting a degree that applies outside of publishing as well.

Have you been there? It was awesome. Although $18.95 for lunch is a bit much for a regular spot, but I’m definitely bringing my parents there. I think my dad would cry, he’d be so excited at the spread. They had three different types of whole crab!
