Beyond Sparkly Vampires: YA for Lit Snobs

Finished “Divergent” by Veronica Roth on the train this morning. My college roomie recommended this to me, and I’m really glad that she did. It was quite the action packed book, and much more violent than I was expecting.  I’ve really been getting into dystopian fiction this year. I found the idea of factions to be an interesting concept, flawed, but interesting. If you’re looking for a new series to fill the hole that “The Hunger Games” may have left in your life, definitely give this a try.  I’m looking forward to reading the second book in the series, but I’m really kicking myself for starting this series before it’s over.  I give this one an A-.  31/50! (Whoo!!! I’m 3 books ahead of schedule) Up next: “Gone Girl” by Gillian Flynn
