Harper Voyage to Accept Unagented Manuscripts!

Harper Voyager, HarperCollins’ science fiction and fantasy imprint, will accept complete and unagented manuscripts for two weeks.

From October 1 until October 14, authors from around the world can send their manuscripts through this submission portal. You can find all the submission details at this link. Here’s more from the publisher:

The manuscripts will then be read and those most suited to the global Harper Voyager list will be selected jointly by editors in the USA, UK and Australia.  Accepted submissions will benefit from the full publishing process: accepted manuscripts will be edited; and the finished titles will receive online marketing and sales support in World English markets. Voyager will be seeking an array of adult and young adult speculative fiction for digital publication, but particularly novels written in the epic fantasy, science fiction, urban fantasy, horror, dystopia and supernatural genres.

The global effort is led by U.K. deputy publisher director Emma Coode, Australian associate publisher Deonie Fiford, and U.S. executive editor Diana Gill.

Huzzah for a four day weekend!! I’m going to head to the gym to get a quick run in before meeting my mom at her hotel in the Financial District. She’s in for the weekend to help me decorate our apartment, pass on her ninja picturing hanging skills to me, and drop incredibly not subtle hints about how I need to produce children soon.

But I still have Nano-ing to get to tonight. If you guys are on Tumblr and don’t see a word count picture before 11:55 EST start bombarding my inbox and yell at me to get my tush in gear.

It’s the final countdown…

I have just over 9K words left to write and then I will have completed Camp Nano. I am so excited, and crazy determined to finish. My mother gets into town tonight, so I need to really make sure that I either wake up early or stay up late and get my writing done.

But it’s happening. I have come too close to quit now.

A little over 3K words tonight. Was hoping for another 5K word night, but I am exhausted and really need to get some sleep. The Boo even made dinner tonight, which is a big indicator of how tired I am.
Busy day at work tomorrow, and then a concert at The Knitting Factory. Not sure when I’m going to fit in time to write, but I’ve got to get some done.

Yes. 5K words!! Although technically 800 words were from yesterday. I’m incredibly tired and my eyes feel like they are going to fall out of their sockets, so I’m off to bed. Got to get into work early tomorrow so I can function like a person at a 9:30 am meeting.

At work. Still kind of feel like a zombie. I only got a little over a thousand words done yesterday. But I didn’t update my counter. I’ll just add it to today’s total. I need to get slightly less than 20K words done before Friday. It’s going to be tough but I’m determined to finish.

Canceled on my poker game tonight. My only plans for the evening are to get my laundry done and write.

Okay. Looks like I’ve leaving sooner than anticipated since it’s going to take me longer than 70 minutes to run 7 miles. I’m probably looking at more like 90 minutes. So I’m heading out. But I got a decent amount of typing in all things considered.
I’m coming for you gray status line! Saturday is out for writing as it is jam packed with family and wedding stuff. Sunday we’ll be back in the city at 7 am, so after a solid nap, I’ve got some major writing to do. But I can do this. It’s always easier after the half way point right?

Yes. Got in over 3K words tonight. It is so ridiculously hot in the study though, I’ve actually broken a sweat. But maybe that’s because my fingers were furiously typing; -)
It feels good to see that I’m more than half way finished even though I don’t have many days left. I am such a procrastinator though. I usually need some sort of panic to get me going.
Not sure what I’m going to do about writing tomorrow and Saturday. I’m hoping since both current boss and future boss are out tomorrow that I can squeeze in a little bit of writing. I’d really like to just sleep on our flight.

Yes. 3219 words done for the night. Whiskey definitely seems to be my most productive liquor. Although I noticed that I had a lot more dialogue than I normally do between characters. Hit a sensitive family part in the story, and I actually started to choke myself up a bit.

Drinking like Dylan Thomas tonight (except not in crazy excess). Finally opened the Johnny Walker Black Label that the Boo and I bought returning from our honeymoon last year.

I enjoy whiskey, but dear lord this is absolutely delicious. No mixer or chaser required. Now to crank out at least 3K words for the night.
