Finished “The Magician’s Assistant” by Ann Patchett. What a read. I had no idea what I was getting into. This was one of the titles in the magical realism Humble Bundle that I bought a while ago. Never heard of the book, and only heard good things about Ann Patchett.
This book broke my heart, but thanks to some solid writing on Patchett’s part, I didn’t want to abandon the characters until I knew they were going to be okay.
If someone would have described this book to me, I probably wouldn’t have read it, but I’m so glad that I did. It’s incredibly sad, but it’s worth reading.
I give this an A-.
39/50-Almost back on track.
Up next: I’m not sure yet. Need to flip through my to-read list.

Personal info wise I'm pretty awesome, occasionally funny, and frequently getting lost.

I live in Brooklyn and recently left the book publishing world after six years to finish up my MBA and work on my writing.
