Just had a quick Starbucks break with one of the editorial interns for the summer. I met her at our company party two weeks ago.
It was really nice to sit down, and give her the scoop on what it’s like to work in our sales and marketing departments. I think it’s because I didn’t have a ton of help getting started in publishing, that I always like making myself available for questions. Plus, I really like giving advice and I do remember how scary it is trying to get started in publishing.
Hopefully she enjoyed it as well. Sometimes I can’t tell if I seem intimidating or not. I’m leaning more towards not though, because she asked me what my full title was, and then I stumbled over it. I don’t get to say it out loud that often.
