72 Quotes about Writing →
Compiled by Writers Digest. I think my favorite is from Virginia Woolf, “Every secret of a writer’s soul, every experience of his life, every quality of his mind, is written large in his works.”

Finally updated my phone. The Tumblr app is crazy different now. On the way to LaGuardia. Finished “When the Devil Holds the Candle” last night. Still kind of mulling over how I felt about it. Review to come next week when I’m at a real computer again. So excited that I hit 25 books for the year so far! I won’t be very active on here while I’m in Montana but I...

Today’s my Friday, and it’s going to be a busy one. My brain definitely doesn’t feel like doing all of this work. I am feeling really unprepared to leave for my brother’s wedding. I have my outfits for the rehearsal dinner and wedding already picked out and matched to shoes, but I still don’t feel like I’m ready to attend his wedding.  Maybe I just can’t...

Yes! After weeks of rolling around my Camp Nano story idea in my head. It has started to become much clearer. So clear that I jotted down a rough outline on a scratch pad a few minutes ago and I’m actually feeling good about it.  I also thought that maybe I should do the protagonist’s sections in the second person…we shall see how that plays out.

This week already feels like it is getting away from me, and it’s only Tuesday. My brother is getting married on Saturday, and we’re flying out on Thursday to be there. I think their wedding will be nice, but I’m really looking forward to being in nature. The idea of sitting in some sort of wooden chair and reading next to a river with the mountains in my periphery has been...

Love lists like this. It’s always nice to see the competition, and it’s very nice to see that the house I work for is in the top 25.

It was pouring like crazy this morning on the way into work. The train that I take crosses the Manhattan Bridge, and while the rain was awful, the view of the stormy weather and the city skyline was just beautiful.  I’m about 65% through “When the Devil Holds the Candle”. Amazon recommended it to me based on the two Jo Nesbo novels that I have purchased. Maybe the other titles...

Another Friday working in the office. Most people have already left, and it seems to be just me and my keyboard clicking away on this side of the floor. I have a little bit of work to do but I’m just counting down until I can leave because I’m seeing Brave tonight with some friends.

Went out for a walk to get some fresh air, but I don’t think the hot, damp air really counts as fresh anymore.  I love living here, but the summers can be brutal. The air is so thick, I feel like nature is putting a wool coat on me the second I step outside. I’m a little sad because this is only the beginning of the summer heat waves.

I’m almost done with “Daughter of Smoke and Bone” and I’m aiming to have it finished by tonight. The plot is enjoyable, as are the characters, but I’m just thrown for a loop with the descriptions of the budding romance and it just reminds me that I’m reading YA.  I don’t have a problem with YA, and I can’t tell if it’s because I never really...

Well, I’m already back in NYC. Sadly I did not get any reading done on this trip to Boston and it looks like it will be my last trip to MEEI (knock on wood). My migraines are mostly under control now due to some meds and the diet changes, so I don’t need surgery. The only bad news of the day is that I do have vestibular nerve damage so my balance is never going to be...

Done with my vestibular testing already. (not fun). Now to kill time until my appt at 4:30. I want to explore more of the area but the weather channel lied and it’s pretty nippy in Boston today. Maybe I’ll find a waiting area I can nap in.
