It feels like I was run over by a truck last night. I think sitting in crazy uncomfortable seats all weekend at the aiports/planes and then the library chairs caught up to me. Nothing makes me feel older than having back/leg pain from chairs; -( Today’s going to be a hectic day at work catching up on everything while I was out. But I know I still need to post my review for “Life After...

psychsquirrel replied to your post: Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes, and… Congrats! :) I love how you say huzzah. You’re the only person I’ve heard (read) say that :D Thank you! And thank you for the huzzah-appreciation. I read it one day in a comic, and decided it needed to be added into my vocabulary because it has two z’s.

Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes, and kind words.  My accounting final was ridiculously brutal, and he changed the format of the test again. I will be anxiously awaiting my test scores to be posted, but at least I can now say I’m done with my first semester!! Huzzah.

Back on campus studying for my accounting final. It’s my last night of the first semester. It went by fast, but at the same time, I’m definitely ready to have a break. After tonight, I won’t have class again until mid-July. Very exciting stuff.

Just submitted my law final via TurnItIn.com. Have any of you guys used this before? I think it’s a pretty nifty aid for teachers to help cut down on plagiarism and just plain cheating. But I wasn’t sure how widely used it was. Definitely wasn’t in use when I was in undergrad. Although, my parents couldn’t believe that all of my accounting homework is done online, and my...

lalunetteprismatique replied to your post: At CVG. You should never arrive at an airport… Hope you made it back for your final. Thanks! I am home now. My flight was canceled, but somehow the customer service rep was able to get me on an earlier flight. I was incredibly happy because after I had already been there for an hour, a large group of people who were also on the canceled flight had...

undergroundlibrarian replied to your post: Still in Cinci with my family. It’s been a decent… Only a couple of hours from me! Check out Jungle Jim’s while you’re in the area! It’s a cool place. I didn’t have a car, but my brother used to go there frequently. He was always talking about how amazing it was.

At CVG. You should never arrive at an airport before the Starbucks opens. Not that I drink coffee but if it’s too early for coffee, it’s too early. Looking forward to being home in 7 hours.

Still in Cinci with my family. It’s been a decent trip but I’m ready to be back home, although studying in a hotel room does make it easier to not get distracted.

At the airport. Heading off this weekend to Ohio to watch my brother’s wife graduate from med school. Last time her family and ours got together it was the wedding, and it was awkward. Hopefully this weekend goes off with only happy tears.

Just raised my voice to a coworker who is about twice my age (we think…no one seems to know how old he is). He didn’t cry, but he started shaking and stuttering. I feel like I just shamed a puppy.   On that note, I think it’s the perfect time to leave for the day. Off to get my nails done, get in a zen state so I can knock this law paper out of the park.

ramoorebooks: I just heard a woman say, “Just because he reads books doesn’t make him smarter than me!” Well, yes it does. The guy who lifts more weight than me is stronger than me. The person that eats better will be healthier. And the one who reads more will be smarter than me. That’s just how it works.

Finished “Life After Life” by Kate Atkinson this morning. I really enjoyed it although it definitely made me cry at few points. Review to come later. It’s one of those Thursdays where I’m in back to back to back meetings.

It’s mid-May and I’m wearing boots and tights today. There is something wrong with this picture. Not totally happy with the weather, but at the same time, I hate how ridiculously hot it gets in the city in the summer.

Had an awesome penultimate class for Ethics, followed up by a delicious ramen dinner with a friend. Rounding out my evening in the school computer lab working on my final paper for Ethics. I chose ebook price fixing and the DOJ suit, so I can do research on a lawsuit and area that interests me and will actually apply to my job. The only downside is that I picked a computer with a slightly wonky...

And meetings #2 and #3 are done with as well. Phew. Got some interesting news today. I’m going to be handling ebooks for one of my accounts as well. It doesn’t make sense for P & E to be sold and handled as separate accounts but I’m hesitant to get excited because I’m still doing all of my old job as they haven’t hired a replacement.  Also on a totally unrelated...

Big meeting #1 is done with. Had to do a lot of talking, but it went well. Hopefully this will help our relationship with the client, and we’ll all be much happier. At least I’m good friends with the in-house person that I’ll be working closer with to make this client happy.

I don’t know what it’s like to work in an industry for 20+ years. I don’t know what it’s really like to do a job without email and systems to aid and/or complicate my job. But I’d like to think that regardless of my age, I would learn to embrace the new especially when it’s clear that it’s becoming “the way” for my industry.  Analysis is...

The 10 Worst Mothers in Books →
In honor of Mother’s Day, Jennifer Gilmore picks the worst mothers you’ll find in literature. This list is definitely not exhaustive. I would have liked to add Margaret White from “Carrie” to this list. Who do you think is missing?
